I told myself I was going to exercise this week, so yesterday, I got on a stationery bike and after 8 minutes I had to get off of it. The goal for next week is to get on the exercise bike for 9 minutes. 9.5 by 2025.
Passions this week include: Katjes Fred Ferkels, breakfast burritos, and reading the character traits of different dog breeds.
A couple years ago, my friend served tea at her house, and with it, she offered us cookies and these vegan gummy pigs I’d never seen before. These guys were so delicious, I’ve been trying to track them down ever since. The other day, I stumbled into World Market, and low and behold, there they were. I had, at last, found the gummy pigs, and uncovered that they also came in penguins. It turns out they are called Katjes Fred Ferkels, and I don’t know if that’s like the first, middle and last name of the pigs, or what’s going on there, but they’re as good as I remembered.
A breakfast burrito is a heavy dose of food, but process-wise, it’s a great meal. Putting a big drop of hot sauce on every bite, peeling back the foil, getting really thirsty. The breakfast burrito can make for a whole morning activity. Afterward, I try to set aside time to take a nap on the couch. Then I’ll wake up an hour later with my whole body smelling like food and it’s 10am.
Since getting off social media, I read the news a lot more, and when I’m too sad from the news, sometimes I’ll look up dog breeds. There are a lot of websites that claim what different dog breeds are like, and many utilize a rating system with qualities like shedding, playfulness, neediness, and barking. For example, the Yorkshire Terrier often gets 3 stars for shedding, 5 stars for neediness, and 5 stars for barking. I was thinking what I would get if I were ranked this way. Definitely 5 stars for shedding (hair is everywhere), 4 stars for barking (talking), and I’ll save the neediness ranking for my diary.
And now some from the readers…
Janet: “This is already a Kerrygold butter fan space. Did you know that it is allowed to sprinkle extra salt on your butter? I make toast, spread on the 'gold, then I sprinkle on the fancy sea salt. Prepare to be amazed at how Kerrygold can taste even better!”
Sam: “I’m passionate about color and how we perceive color in movies. I’m a colorist and reading a book about how all color is subjective in that there is no neutral look.”
Faith: “Just going to top 5 it since I can't keep my thoughts to 1-2 sentences about anything. 1. Last of the Mohicans Soundtrack 2. White Chocolate Peppermint Tea 3. Wearing 2 pairs of socks 4. Walking in the sunshine 5. Cart dogs at Wal-Mart”
