First things first, let’s get the big news out of the way: Yes, I saw Sutton Foster at LAX. She accidentally made eye contact with me while I was making eye contact with her on purpose. I love when that happens. I’m not sure this is accurate but it feels like I just caught a pokemon.
Anyway, passions this week include: grilled cheese, appreciating other people’s art, and I’m back on the jigsaw puzzle horse.
Why don’t they grill every sandwich like they do grilled cheese? Why save the royal treatment for when it’s just cheese in there? I’ll never know. It’s disgusting outside but that hasn’t stopped me from eating the beloved “hot glue” sandwich. I had one for lunch today, and tomorrow, I’m probably gonna have another one for lunch.
I don’t have a job, and with the nature of the entertainment business, I’m really not sure when I’ll have a job again. In the past, I’ve used this time to spiral and mentally cave in, and maybe it’s the anti-depressants talking, but I don’t wanna do that anymore. Instead, I’ve been seeing what other people are making, and getting excited by it. I saw Sorry Baby, I was in awe. I am loving Megan Stalter’s press appearances for Too Much. Ziwe’s interviews are making me laugh. Josh Sharp’s off-Broadway show “ta da!” is so delightful, I’ve seen it twice already. My eyes are open, and I am taking it in!
Jigsaw puzzles are so calming and satisfying, I’m not sure why I don’t do them all day every day. Last weekend, I did one with two good friends while we ate sour candy and a movie played in the background. I don’t know what I did in a past life to deserve such bliss. If you are feeling bad, try eating sour candy and doing a jigsaw with a movie in the background for like 1 hour. I think it’ll do something to your soul.
And now some from the readers…
Annie: “I started growing a little garden for the first time. I think I’ll have enough little cherry tomatoes soon to make a cherry tomato galette—I’m passionate both about growing my tomatoes and galettes. (I’m sorry for technically sharing two passions)”
Tasha: “My passion- my tomatoes. I love to pick their suckers and smell my fingers. My fingers retain smell for too long, hold the stink. It's been like this for as long as I can remember.”
Maggie: “My passion is eating snap peas I’ve picked off the plant I grew from a seed that is currently popping off in my community garden! When I go by the water my plants, I crunch crunch on my little garden snack! While the weather in the rest of the country is cold and crummy, I’m in SoCal being a flippin urban farmer and enjoying the fruits and veggies of my bounty!”
If you have a passion you want to share, you can reply to this email with 1-2 sentences about it.

Wouldn’t that be a boost of confidence? Tickets available here.
