So far, there will be book release events coming up in New York on June 24th and in LA on July 13th for Murder on Sex Island, so mark your calendars if you live one of those places and want to come! In the meantime, you can pre-order the book here! If you’re not familiar, it’s the story of an incompetent woman (no relation) who has to go undercover as a reality contestant to find a missing man on a smutty reality show called Sex Island. Some blood, almost no sex. Okay for prudes!
Can you tell professionals at Bantam made the graphic? It doesn’t even have my signature Canva watermark!
Passions this week include: Murder She Wrote song versatility, elastic on the back of pants, and Truvani bars.
Have you ever heard the intro music for Murder She Wrote? Dum dum dum dum dum dum dum diddidy dum, diddidy dum, diddidy dum, nah, nah, nah, nah… Have you ever tried doing household chores to this music? It’s so funny. Stirring pasta, writing a to-do list, sweeping. Just try it. You may find yourself chuckling or just smiling a little.
I’ve always believed in the wet food/dry food dichotomy but was skeptical of the soft pants/hard pants one. I wore hard jeans every day of the COVID-19 lockdown. I don’t know why. It took me a while but I finally got to love soft pants. SP’s have elastic in the back at least, and usually also all the way around. Very good for days you eat cheese.
I love Truvani bars. They come in flavors you think will be bad (banana bread, chocolate chip oatmeal cookie), but turn out to be sorta good. When I look up Truvani online it seems like maybe I’ve been scammed, like maybe it’s rejected NASA food, but I like the bars, so what!
And now some from the readers…
Matthew: “My passion: When we first got our dog last year we agreed to vacuum every day. What a couple of morons! But in my laziness I soon discovered that waiting allows fur tumbleweeds to grow exponentially until I finally get the vacuum out and *fwoooop* up they go. So satisfying!”
SJ: “My passion is being in clubs for adults. I'm in a club for filmmaking and just joined the steering committee. There are no stakes and no one is asking you to be there, or to even try. So I send fun emails with jokes in it and colorful fonts, out of my own volition! There's no teacher supervising. Can you tell I hate authority? It's democracy at its finest!”
Helaine: “I love driving outside a big city to a small town and read about the town in Wikipedia”
If you have a passion, reply to this email with 1-2 sentences about it :)
